iQLA Celebrates the Class of 2026 at El Camino College
On Friday, May 29, iQ Academy of California–Los Angeles (iQLA) held an in-person graduation ceremony in Torrance, gathering students, families, and faculty. For a class that spent much of its academic journey learning and connecting virtually, this moment on stage together carried its own kind of weight.
The event showcased the power of online education to not only prepare students academically but also to give them the freedom and tools to thrive in their own circumstances. Whether managing health challenges, earning college credit early through dual enrollment, or seeking a safer and more personalized learning environment, each student found a path that worked for them.
A Ceremony to Remember
The ceremony featured a keynote address by former California State Superintendent Jack O’Connell, who offered words of encouragement and expressed pride in the graduates’ accomplishments. iQLA school leadership offered remarks of their own, and one of the class valedictorians took the stage to reflect on the challenges and triumphs that shaped their high school experience.
Among the Class of 2026 are students preparing to enter the military, others heading to college with credits already earned through iQLA’s dual enrollment program, and some stepping directly into careers they have already secured. Their stories are a testament to the diverse pathways iQLA supports and a reminder that education does not have to follow a single script to lead to success.
An Anthem to Open the Day
Gabby, a graduating senior who has played guitar since he was six, performed the national anthem to kick off the event. He set the tone with a piece of the class’s own creativity and talent, playing for his entire graduating class, their families, and over 40 of his own relatives who came to cheer him on.
Gabby’s story reflects what an online path can make possible. He enrolled in iQLA back in 2017, when he was in fourth grade, and over the decade that followed, he built the discipline to manage his time while nurturing a passion for music that has defined his life. This fall he heads to Pierce College to study music.
“I’ve really been trying to plan, get everything practiced and finalized,” he said ahead of the ceremony. “I’m very excited for graduation day.”
A Class That Found Its Own Path
The Class of 2026 is a shining example of how online learning can open doors, build confidence, and lead to future possibilities that reach far beyond the screen. From wherever they started, these graduates found a path that worked for them, and they walked across a stage together to mark its end.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026. Your future is bright, and you’re just getting started.
